Description
BIOL10900 is a 3 CR course that introduces the fundamentals of genetics and examines the role of genetics in diagnosis and treatment of disease. In this class, we will discuss the genetic basis underlying many diseases and disorders, the diagnostic methods which can be used to screen for them, and the genetic-based approaches which can be used to develop treatments and vaccines. We will also briefly discuss the ethical implications of large-scale collection of patient genetic information.
