The Career Center empowers Hunter College students and alumni to confidently explore, prepare for, and pursue meaningful careers through high-impact services, employer connections, and experiential learning opportunities.

Career Counseling
Students can meet one-on-one with a career counselor to explore career interests, clarify goals, and build career readiness skills. Appointments are available for resume and cover letter review, job and internship search strategies, mock interviews, graduate school preparation, and more. Students can schedule appointments directly through NAV.

Internships & Experiential Learning
Internships and hands-on experiences are essential to building career confidence and skills. The Career Center connects students to internship opportunities across corporate, nonprofit, government, and healthcare sectors. Students can gain experience through academic-credit internships, paid roles, micro-internships, and project-based learning. These experiences enhance professional development and build networks for future employment.

Employer Engagement & Career Events
The Career Center partners with a wide range of employers to offer career events, industry panels, and recruiting opportunities—both in-person and virtually. Students can engage with alumni and professionals through job fairs, employer-led workshops, information sessions, and career conversations. These experiences offer direct insight into workplace trends, hiring practices, and career pathways.

Handshake
Hunter College uses Handshake as its central career management platform. Students and alumni can create profiles, upload resumes, register for events, and apply for jobs and internships across a variety of industries. Employers regularly post opportunities specifically for Hunter students.
