Description

This seminar will examine the range of human rights challenges facing the people of China today. The course will introduce students to China’s political and legal order and guide them through discussions that focus on the demands for civil and political rights. Topics include such sensitive issues as the monopoly on power possessed by the Communist Party, freedom of conscience and expression, and a criminal justice system too often brutal and rigged.
