Based on a five-year evaluation of the PH Minor program, we identified several recommended changes to enhance the structure of the PH Minor and its delivery to non-PH majors. 1) Rather than the mandatory course—PH 30200: Health Program Planning and Evaluation, a hands-on, skills-based course that serves as a foundation for other skills-based courses in the PH Major (including the Senior Capstone course)—a more suitable option for non-PH majors would be PH 30300: Social Structure and Health, which provides a conceptual framework for public health and addresses the breadth of social determinants of health. 2) PH minors would benefit from additional course options for the two-course sequence selection to support their progress in the PH Minor and to increase the variety of PH topics of interest. 3) There should be a selection criteria in place for the PH Minor that align with those of the BSPH, ensuring that PH minors possess the necessary prerequisites and GPA requirements for PH courses.
