Description
This course examines the Middle East and North Africa under a new light that highlights the region as a rich cultural landscape that has influenced the rest of the world with their cultural, political, ideological, and scientific achievements. From the first Sumerians settled on Mesopotamia to the convulsive movements of the Arab Spring that are shaking the foundations of some Middle East and North African nation-states through the Egyptian civilization and the Persian and Ottoman empires, the Middle East and North African region (MENA) represents one of the longest and vital developments in human civilization
