This is an introductory, one-semester physics course designed for non-science majors. The approach in this course is to emphasize the basic ideas in physics and a qualitative understanding of the physical processes in every-day life,minimizing the use of mathematics. PHYS 101 satisfies the 'Scientific World' requirement in the Flexible Core of Pathways' Common Core of general education. Not credited with PHYS 110 and PHYS 111.
