Diversity in Child Development
Catalog Description
The course is an introduction to child development for educators with a particular focus on how diversity influences development. In this course, students will examine how race, gender, culture, disability, and sexual orientation influence the cognitive, physical, linguistic, and socioemotional development of children. A key feature of this course is that students will also learn research-based practices for fostering positive developmental outcomes for students from diverse backgrounds.
