Catalog Description
Beginning Elementary Literacy Methods: Responsive, Sustaining, and Equitable Instruction is the first of a twopart sequence designed for pre-service graduate teacher candidates as an introduction to literacy instruction in elementary classrooms. Students will learn how to design culturally responsive, sustaining, inclusive, and equitable literacy learning environments, how to assess students’ literacy strengths and areas for growth, and how to design culturally and linguistically affirming literacy instruction. 3 credits.
